My Journey to the Sky
Arriving in Bir feels like stepping into a postcard. Colorful houses dot the green hills, prayer flags flutter in the breeze, and the Dhauladhar range stands tall like ancient guardians. After a quick briefing with my pilot, we drove 14 km uphill to Billing, the launch site sitting at 2,400 meters above sea level.
The moment came quickly. A short sprint forward—and we were in the air.
The World Beneath My Feet
Below me, the patchwork of tea gardens and pine forests stretched out endlessly. The wind was gentle but powerful, lifting us higher in slow, steady arcs. Gliding over monasteries, terraced fields, and distant waterfalls, I forgot everything else. For 25 glorious minutes, time slowed down.
My pilot pointed out eagles circling below us and villages that looked like specks from the sky. I even got to steer the glider for a few seconds—an unforgettable thrill.
